John is a highly experienced senior transport professional with a proven track record of success across 20 years in consulting and government. John brings with him with significant experience and expertise in provision of transport network and service planning advice, transport policy and strategy development, business case development, program and project management and commercial advice.

Prior to joining SmedTech, John successfully led various multi-disciplinary teams in both Local and State Government that were responsible for the development, delivery and management of major transport service and infrastructure initiatives.  John has also consulted extensively to private and public sector clients on a wide range of transport projects across Australia and overseas, providing technical, strategic and commercial advice on numerous major transport projects.

John has a depth of experience in public transport related projects from route selection, infrastructure advice and end-to-end service planning through to preparation and commercial evaluation of service contracts and franchises.
