Major road projects victoria - ITC
Road upgrades undertaken by MRPV will be awarded to pre-qualified contractors using the new Program Delivery Approach which includes a new contract model, the Incentivised Target Cost. SmedTech assisted with the development of the new technical specifications under these ITC contracts.

North East Link
The North East Link will complete Melbourne’s orbital freeway network by creating a high capacity freeway link between the M80 Ring Road in Greensborough and EastLink in Donvale. The project involves a significant upgrade of the Eastern Freeway and construction of the new toll road between the Eastern and M80 freeways, including two three lane tunnels under the Yarra river delivered through a Public Private Partnership (PPP) that incorporates aspects of collaborative contracting.
north south corridor (t2d)
The South Australian Department for Infrastructure and Transport is developing a business case for the Torrens to Darlington (T2D) section of motorway, which is the final piece of South Australia’s North-South Corridor. The project will complete the 10.5km gap in Adelaide’s north- south freeway network and will be the state’s biggest infrastructure project to date.
WESTERN ROADS UPGRADE
The $1.8b Western Roads Upgrade involves the design and construction of seven arterial road upgrades, a modification of a freeway interchange, and the rehabilitation and long term maintenance of 260kms of Melbourne’s arterial road network over a period of 20 years under a Public Private Partnership (PPP) model; the first of its kind in Australia.
M80 Upgrade
The M80 Ring Road Upgrade project will widen 38km of freeway from Laverton to Greensborough with an estimated cost of $2.25 billion.
west gate tunnel
The West Gate Tunnel project is a new toll road in Melbourne’s west which is a Public Private Partnership (PPP) between the State of Victoria and Transurban. This project was instigated through a Market Led Proposal from Transurban which has resulted in a contract execution in December 2017 for the project worth $6.7 billion.
BUS INTERCHANGE INDEPENDENT ADVISOR
Bus interchanges are critical to the success of a high-performing, modern multi-modal public transport system. Bus interchanges will play a critical role in future public transport system, facilitating access to rail services for residents throughout the metropolitan area.
MELBOURNE METRO - EES INDEPENDENT EXPERT
The Metro Tunnel project comprises two nine-kilometre long rail tunnels from Kensington to South Yarra, travelling underneath Swanston Street in the CBD, as part of a new Sunbury to Cranbourne-Pakenham line. New underground stations will be constructed at North Melbourne, Parkville, State Library, Town Hall and Anzac.
