Mel Nanscawen - Executive advisor

Mel is a highly-experienced, marketing and government relations executive with over 20 years experience across Government and the private sector.  Prior to joining Smedley Technical and Strategic, Mel was the Deputy Secretary Operational Coordination at  Victoria’s Department of Transport.

In her leadership roles within the Victorian Government, Mel has successfully delivered many strategies and plans in support of organisational change activities, consumer positioning of new brands and products, marketing, market research, branding, engagement and customer communications.

Mel also has significant experience in transport operations and communications campaigns for the travelling public. Over the past decade, she has held leadership roles in the State’s public transport and transport planning authorities, with a focus on operational readiness of transport assets, the implementation of major timetable changes, managing disruption, community engagement and crisis management.
